German Club Tivoli

German Tivoli Club is the best German restaurant in Melbourne for us. Authentic German food, awesome bear, the Pilsner one is our favorite. Well priced, food. Is fresh, great flavour. Customer service and waitress are very good. Give it a go, you won’t regret.

Although this restaurant sits at the side of the road between my home and work, I had never bothered to step in once except today. The experience turned out quite delightful. Food are very delicious and come with generous portion. The only reason to take one star off is because of the cherry chocolate cake my friend ordered for dessert. She said it is dry and stale. Other than that, we both like the place very much, will come back sometime.

Food is the best. The sausages I wanted too eat at least 10. They are so good. The Bee Sting desert was also amazing. The staff were so friendly and the atmosphere feels homely and friendly. A must go restaurant.

Mixed feelings about this place. The club is a club. Has that old school club feel. A few function rooms I can see for dancing and events etc. the main room as staff but they aren’t serving. You need to go to the counter to serve yourself. No personalisation as I assumed it would be. I know what good ole fashion German/Austrian hospitality is like so I’m a little surprised the place doesn’t ooze it? Schnitzel is super tasty. Will go back for the schnitz for sure. Not many other things I would’ve chosen from the menu.

It’s a great place to have dinner with family and enjoy a delicious German beer. I love their happy hour on Fridays — it always makes me so happy!

Our bike riding group booked a table for 10 at the German Club Tivoli and we all had an enjoyable night with great food, beer and entertainment. Food was authentic as was the beer with great service provided by the staff. Highly recommended.

Live accordion background music from a wonderful gentleman who happily takes requests from a v broad song list. My European & Asian guests wanted to tweak the menu items slightly and were warmly encouraged the Manager even remarked not a bad idea. V friendly and obliging staff. The menu has all the favourites and everything is a home made standard of quality. The portions are generous by any standard. We skipped entree to save room for dessert but found we were all so full we ended up sharing the apple strudel. Friendly regulars came up to us during the evening to chat and welcome us. The beer is the real thing nothing made under license all German imports. In short a great night out for all of us and the budgets not blown.

This is a great German Club where you feel like you are in Germany with its atmosphere and the food is authentic with German music. The Pork Knuckle is always large and cooked perfectly with a crispy skin along with sauerkraut, potato, pickles etc
